Breakthrough Management Group (BMGI) was founded in 1999 in the United States and became one of the world’s top Lean Six Sigma consulting firms, employing over 150 people across 17 international offices.
The South African subsidiary, BMGI SA was established in 2003 and quickly became one of the most successful Lean Six Sigma training and consulting firms in the Southern African region. Over the course of its 16-year history, the BMGI SA team has helped many well-known brands to bolster bottom-line financial performance by sharpening efficiencies, improving quality and actively engaging their teams in process improvement activities.
In March 2017, BMGI SA was acquired by Lacuna Innovation, a global innovation consultancy that helps brands to sustainably innovate new products, services, and business models through its proprietary approach to Innovation.
Early in 2020 we felt the pain and pressure the global pandemic, COVID-19 placed on our business forcing us to make a decision on how we deliver training. We decided to partner with NovoEd and to redesign and redevelop all of our training courses and programmes to suit their Facilitated Online Training approach.
As we transition from an in-person learning service provider to an online learning service provider we decided to bring BMGI to and end and incorporate this offering in Lacuna Innovation. The newly established Facilitated Online Learning offering is branded as Lacuna Education and operates out of the United Kingdom.
Although we have a new brand and a new way of training we are still the same team bringing you high-quality learning and development programmes you have become accustomed to.
What we can do for you
Firstly, we deliver a range of courses and programmess in the fields of Lean, Six Sigma, Leadership Development and Innovation as outlined in this website.
Secondly, you can leverage our Online Learning Design Services to design and develop custom facilitated online learning courses and programs for your organization. You will be able to host this on your own branded version of Novoed or you could use our platform. This will allow you to significantly scale those in-person training programs which you are currently running for your staff while maintaining all the engagement and skill development benefits.

Meet the Team
Salomon is driven by the complexity of the problem he has to solve. In fact, the more complex and the tougher the challenge, the more enthusiastic and involved he becomes. This commitment is what drove Salomon to found BMGI SA in 2003 to enable him to transfer these skills to others. You may also catch him recovering and repurposing vintage items.
